A classic lasagna recipe featuring a rich homemade Bolognese sauce, creamy ricotta, and bubbling mozzarella that makes it perfect for any occasion.

- Lasagna noodles
- 1 lb Ground beef or Italian sausage
- Homemade Bolognese sauce
- 15 oz Ricotta cheese
- 2 cups Mozzarella cheese, shredded
- 1/2 cup Parmesan cheese, grated
- 2 Eggs
- 2 tbsp Olive oil
- 3 cloves Garlic, minced
- 1 medium Onion, chopped
- 1 tsp Italian seasoning
- Salt, to taste
- Pepper, to taste
- Fresh basil (optional)
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
- Cook lasagna noodles according to package instructions and set aside.
- Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium heat and sauté chopped onions and garlic until they’re translucent.
- Add the ground beef or sausage and cook until browned.
- Stir in the Bolognese sauce and let it simmer for about 20 minutes.
- Combine ricotta cheese, eggs, Italian seasoning, salt, and pepper in a bowl.
- Spread a layer of Bolognese sauce in a baking dish, followed by noodles, ricotta mixture, and mozzarella. Repeat layers, finishing with mozzarella on top.
- Cover with aluminum foil and bake for 25 minutes.
- Remove the foil and bake for an additional 15-20 minutes until cheese is bubbly and golden.
- Allow to cool for 10 minutes before serving. Garnish with fresh basil if desired.
Notes
For a crispier top, broil the lasagna for a minute or two after baking. You can also make it ahead of time and bake before serving.
