Description
A no-bake dessert that combines layers of coffee-dipped ladyfingers and a rich mascarpone custard, perfect for gatherings.

- 6 egg yolks
- 3/4 cup granulated sugar
- 2/3 cup milk
- 1 1/4 cups heavy cream
- 8 oz mascarpone cheese
- 1 cup strong brewed espresso, cooled
- 1 tablespoon coffee liqueur (optional)
- 24 ladyfingers
- Cocoa powder for dusting
Instructions
- Whisk together the egg yolks and sugar until thick and pale. Gradually stir in the milk and cook over medium heat, stirring constantly until it thickens. Once thickened, remove from heat and let cool slightly.
- Whip the heavy cream in a large bowl until soft peaks form. Gently fold in the mascarpone cheese until smooth and well-combined.
- Mix the cooled custard into the mascarpone mixture until it’s fully incorporated.
- Combine the brewed espresso and optional coffee liqueur in a shallow dish. Quickly dip each ladyfinger into the espresso mixture and layer them in a dish or individual jars.
- Spread half of the mascarpone mixture over the ladyfingers. Repeat with another layer of ladyfingers, then top with the remaining mascarpone mix.
- Cover and refrigerate for at least 240 minutes or overnight to let the flavors meld beautifully.
- Dust generously with cocoa powder before serving to add that classic touch.
Notes
For a non-alcoholic version, skip the coffee liqueur. Use cream cheese if mascarpone is unavailable.
