Description

A delightful chocolate cake with layers of creamy peanut butter frosting and milk chocolate ganache, perfect for any occasion.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 ¾ cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 ¾ cups sugar
  • ¾ cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1 ½ teaspoons baking powder
  • 1 ½ teaspoons baking soda
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 cup milk
  • ½ cup vegetable oil
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • 1 cup boiling water
  • 1 cup creamy peanut butter
  • 1 cup powdered sugar
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 1 cup peanut caramel
  • 2 cups milk chocolate chips

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease and flour two 9-inch round cake pans.
  2. Mix together the flour, sugar, cocoa powder, baking powder, baking soda, and salt until well combined.
  3. Add the eggs, milk, vegetable oil, and vanilla to the dry ingredients and beat on medium speed for 2 minutes until smooth.
  4. Stir in the boiling water until the batter is well mixed. Be careful—it’ll be thin, but that’s just right!
  5. Pour the batter evenly into the prepared pans.
  6. Bake for 30 to 35 minutes, or until a toothpick comes out clean.
  7. Let the cakes cool in the pans for about 10 minutes before transferring them to a wire rack to cool completely.
  8. Beat the peanut butter and powdered sugar together in another bowl until smooth and creamy.
  9. Whip the heavy cream in a separate bowl until stiff peaks form, then gently fold it into the peanut butter mixture.
  10. Spread the peanut butter frosting on top of one layer, drizzle with peanut caramel, and place the second layer on top.
  11. Melt the milk chocolate chips in a bowl and pour over the top of the cake, allowing it to drip down the sides.
  12. Allow the ganache to set before slicing into the cake.
