Description

A delightful and healthy twist on traditional fries, these Air Fryer Apple Fries are crispy on the outside and sweet on the inside. Perfect for a family snack or festive gathering.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 large apples (Honeycrisp or Granny Smith)
  • ½ cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 large egg
  • 2 tablespoons milk
  • 1 cup panko breadcrumbs
  • 2 tablespoons granulated sugar
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • Nonstick cooking spray

Instructions

  1. Peel the apples if desired and cut them into fry-like sticks. Pat them dry with a paper towel.
  2. Set up coating stations: In Bowl 1, add the flour. In Bowl 2, whisk together the egg and milk until well combined. In Bowl 3, mix the panko breadcrumbs, sugar, and cinnamon.
  3. Dredge each apple stick in the flour, dip it into the egg mixture, and coat with the breadcrumb mixture.
  4. Lightly spray the coated apple fries with nonstick cooking spray and arrange them in the air fryer basket in a single layer.
  5. Air fry at 380°F (190°C) for 7–9 minutes, shaking the basket halfway through to ensure even cooking.
  6. Serve warm with caramel dip, yogurt, or whipped cream.

Notes

For a fun twist, sprinkle with sea salt or serve alongside vanilla ice cream. Can be made gluten-free with appropriate substitutes.
