Description

Delicious apple fries made in an air fryer, coated in a crispy crunch and spiced with cinnamon for a guilt-free treat.


Ingredients

  • 2 large apples (Honeycrisp or Granny Smith)
  • ½ cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 large egg
  • 2 tablespoons milk
  • 1 cup panko breadcrumbs
  • 2 tablespoons granulated sugar
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • Nonstick cooking spray

Instructions

  1. Peel the apples if desired and cut them into fry-like sticks. Pat them dry with a paper towel.
  2. Set up three bowls: Bowl 1 with flour, Bowl 2 with whisked egg and milk, Bowl 3 with panko breadcrumbs, sugar, and cinnamon.
  3. Dredge each apple stick in the flour, dip into the egg mixture, and coat with the breadcrumb mixture.
  4. Lightly spray the coated apple fries with nonstick cooking spray and arrange them in a single layer in the air fryer basket.
  5. Air fry at 380°F (190°C) for 7–9 minutes, shaking the basket halfway through cooking.
  6. Serve warm with caramel dip, yogurt, or whipped cream.

Notes

For a crunchier coating, double-dip the apple sticks in the egg and breadcrumb mixtures. You can also experiment with different spices and toppings.
